Fundamentally, RentBeep operates two sites. The classifieds advertising part of the site is provided by Hagen Software’s E-classifieds.net service. Customer data
With one exception (see below), RentBeep will not sell or release any customer data to any third-party under any circumstances, without the explicit consent of the customer. Any information collected is strictly for internal use.
The only exception to this policy is that data may be exported to external vendors engaged by RentBeep for the purpose of faciliating or enhancing business operations controlled by RentBeep — for example, to an e-mail newsletter service provider such as Aweber or Constant Contact.
When you create a RentBeep account, you may be asked to submit information such as your name, telephone number and e-mail address. This information will be stored in an online database. Once you are registered and logged in, you are no longer anonymous to RentBeep.
If you purchase any goods or services from RentBeep, such as a rental advertisement, we will collect your name, address, credit card information and other personal data. Any information specifically related to payment will either not be stored, or will be stored in a secure online database.
Use of cookies by RentBeep
RentBeep uses “cookies” to enhance the operation and usability of RentBeep.com and all related sites by storing and “remembering” small pieces of data. For example, if you log in and select “remember me,” your username will be stored on your web browser in a cookie.
Cookies are a standard technology in the online world, used by nearly every site we can think of, from Amazon.com to Zillow.com. Use of cookies by third parties displaying ads or content on RentBeep pages
In the event that third parties are engaged to serve advertisements, such third parties may use information may use cookies to provide more targeted advertisements. Information stored in cookies by third parties will never be provided by RentBeep to third parties.
Tracking of IP addresses
RentBeep may track IP addresses. We reserve the right to block the IP address of any individual or group of individuals who abuse any part of our site or service.
RentBeep.com may send e-mail to registered users or advertisers under the following conditions: in response to an e-mail received by RentBeep from a user or advertiser; to pass along feedback about ads received from other users; receipts and other billing-related materials; notice of scheduled maintenance or policy changes; notice of special offers or discounts for RentBeep advertisements. Unsolicited marketing-related e-mails will never be sent more than twice per calendar month, and users may opt out of receiving marketing-related e-mails at any time by following the instructions included with each e-mail.
Security of login information
RentBeep will never initiate an e-mail, phone call, instant message or any other communication in which RentBeep will request a user’s user name or password. If a user initiates such communication with RentBeep, RentBeep may ask for such information.
Updates to privacy policy
RentBeep reserves the right to update this privacy policy at any time without providing notice to previously-registered users. However, we will do our best to ensure that substantive changes are posted in advance of taking effect, and to notify users of such changes via e-mail when possible.
